Why Path to Prosperity?
The competition aims to support business ideas in SE that will increase local employment, have a positive social and economic impact on their communities, and promote sustainable use of local resources. P2P will also increase entrepreneurial skills and business leadership in Southeast.
When is the application due?
Entry deadline – Sunday May 1, 2016
P2P 1st Round finalists announced – Tuesday June 7, 2016
Final business plan due – Thursday December 1, 2016
Who is eligible?
P2P is open to individuals, for-profit businesses or tribal entities. Business ideas may include a new business or an expansion of an existing business. 501(c)3 nonprofits are not eligible. Applicants must be southeast Alaska residents.
What do finalists and winners receive?
Twelve finalists will attend a weekend business boot camp in Juneau to receive technical assistance in writing a business plan. Two business plans will then be selected as finalists and each will receive an award of up to $40,000 for consulting and technical services to develop the business.
